Volunteers provide a vital link between the residents and the community, and add skills and expertise to those available at the Manor. Our volunteer program contributes to a better home, a better community, a better quality of life for our residents, and personal satisfaction for the volunteer.
There are many volunteer opportunities in a wide variety of positions available at Nipissing Manor.
Some of these include:
Activity programs such as Friendly visiting, Baking, Bingo, Cards, Crafts, Musical entertainment, Special events (e.g.: Cultural events, Fashion shows, Holiday parties, Dance night,…), Therapeutic Park gardening and visits, Resident e-mail & Skype program.
Family Council events (e.g.: Mother’s Day, Father’s Day).
Volunteers are required to complete a Volunteer Application including references, provide a current Police Clearance Record, evidence of a TB test and Flu shot.
Volunteers are interviewed and provided with a three-hour orientation and specific training.
Our volunteers are recognized at the annual Ontario Volunteer Service Awards Ceremony and at our annual Volunteer Appreciation Dinner.
Application Forms are available at the Reception area.
